General Information
Name: Aaria
Age: 16 turns
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Hetero
Rank: GreenWeyrling//Apprentice Harper
Appearance
Hair: Dark Brown
Eyes: Blue
Height: 5'5"
Over-All: Aaria has what could be called, a ‘classic beauty’. She’s not quite what you’d picture when you think, young and innocent, since that brings to mind a fair blonde. Standing at a rather small height, beneath the average, Aaria refuses to let people who are taller than her look down at her. She won’t stand close to anyone, just in case. She’s only and inch or two below average, nothing devastating. Yet, Aaria won’t listen to that. At 5’5” she’s rather slim and slender, rather like a young willow tree, or a sapling. With a build that seems delicate enough to snap in a harsh breeze. She’s someone that looks a few turns younger than the ones she can claim, not that you’d want to mention that to her…
Pale skin makes for a stark contrast to dark hair. It would seem like Aaria’s skin had never seen Rukbat, so pale is the colour, it’s possible on the underside of her arm to see her veins quite clearly, something that is often unsettling for some. The deathly pale tone of her skin seems even paler when surrounded by the halo of brown that is her hair. Thick, wavy, and long, Aaria seems even smaller when she wears her hair long. The waves seem to accent her face, curling around it with a gentle tease. A fringe has been cut from the brown locks, falling just above her eyes. In length, her hair reaches her shoulders, though longer as a child, she cut it due to inconvenience. More often than not it is tied back, but there is the occasional time when it is down. Loose, free.
Her facial features seem to be caught between the world of child-hood and a maturity that is only just coming to light. Still soft with the years of her childhood, only just left behind, yet hardening with each year that is added. With a smile always ready on her full, pink lips, Aaria usually comes across as overly friendly. Rarely is she angry, and it is always clear when she is, delicate features hardening with anger or annoyance. Eyes are of a deep blueish colour, bordering on a sapphire colouring. At times, the colouring of her almond shaped-eyes may appear black, but this is just a trick of light. Flecked through her iris’, is a deep green colour, something that is extremely easy to miss unless someone is standing too close for comfort. Eye-lashes are dark, and thick, giving her a flirtatious appearance. Though she’s short, Aaria is well proportioned, nothing looks out of place. Her hands are slender, with long, slender fingers, harper hands.
Personality
Aaria… There are many aspects to this young woman, many of them contradicting in nature. Upon first meeting her, one might feel rather off-balanced. Delicate in appearance she may be, she’s the exact opposite in personality. Aaria is completely stubborn, as well as pig headed, she knows what she wants, she rarely knows how to get it, but is determined to do so. Woe to the person that tells her that the things she believes in are stupid, or have no grounding. They’ll be on the receiving end of a long, and often repetitive tirade. Aaria very rarely admits she’s wrong, usually holding her head high and denying every word that someone says to contradict her, thus, pig headed.
Aaria has a quick to flare temper, and often looses it over ridiculous things. Once she starts going though, it’s even harder to calm her down. Like trying to put out a fire that has an endless supply of fuel to keep itself alive, near impossible. Hand-in-hand with that, comes Aaria’s lack of patience with incompetence. Giggling girls very quickly grate her nerves, as do people who deliberately shirk their responsibility simply for personal pleasure or gain.
Rather meticulous at times, Aaria likes things to be done right the first time. Not the second, not the third, and if it has to be done again after that… She’s more likely to want to hit someone with the project. Thus why Aaria likes to do things herself, rather than let others handle her jobs. In her eyes, if she does it, at least it’s going to get done on time, and well. Though coming with this trait, is curiousity, Aaria is just the type to stick her hand into a dark space just to see what’s hiding, or to see what happens when you annoy a feline. Simply wanting to know what happens when you use a certain action. If something is unknown to this young woman, Aaria will expend every effort to find out exactly what it is. The type of person who wants to know exactly what goes ‘bump’ in the night. Gifted both in voice and with instruments, Aaria loves music, one can often find her humming softly to herself or they may notice her expression softens around any sort of tune.
Lacking tact, everything from this young woman is her honest opinion, she won’t soften the blow, she’ll use what words she can to describe how she’s feeling. In fact, she rather enjoys poking holes in people’s egos. Yet, she’s not deliberately malicious or intending of harm. Though tears and blubbering frustrates her, she’ll try to be patient with someone who is upset, try to calm them down, before urging them to take the first action that comes to them. Rash most of the time, though Aaria is intelligent, she acts first and deals with the consequences later on.
Though she hates to admit it, Aaria isn’t without fear, she has many, some only minor and some effecting her heavily. She’s not fond of large crowds, but can deal, it’s not like her claustrophobia. The very idea of going into a small, enclosed space quite literally stops her breathing. She panics, and refuses to take another step. She's also extremely clusmy though, there are times when you'd swear there was nothing to trip over, yet, somehow, Aaria manages it. Accident with things being knocked over and dropped happen frequently around the young woman.
History
Born to Aeran and Rilara, Aaria was a long desired child. For Turns before her birth, Rilara had tried to conceive and carry to term, and until Aaria was born, was unable to do so. Both unsure what was different about the little girl to the other pregnancies. Of course they were over-joyed, and since it had been such a struggle to get her, both parents were overly protective of the little girl. Despite how much it so obviously annoyed her. Rilara kept Aaria by her side constantly, and since she worked indoors as a weaver, Aaria very rarely got to play outside.
As she got older, the confinement to indoors grated on her nerves more and more, and sometimes took to sneaking out, just to get that little bit of sunshine. This usually made her mother freak, and thus, Aaria was confined to indoors once more. There was nothing traumatic about her life, indeed, it might even be called boring. Aaria proved to be stubborn, a trait that Rilara hadn’t wanted in her daughter, though she proved helpful when given the motivation. She rarely complained about her chores, doing them quietly with little on her mind, finding it was the best way to get out doors, though refused to enter the apprenticeship of Weaving. As she stated she didn’t want to end up like her parents, and thus wanted to choose her own craft.
Always a lover of music, Aaria proved to be gifted in that particular area, and she soon could be found tagging along after the Hold’s Harper, begging him to teach her more. When it was suggested she enter an apprentice ship there, she jumped at the chance, begging her parents to allow her to go. It took convincing, but finally, at eleven turns old, Aaria was allowed to go study at Harper Hall.
Aaria didn’t get along with any of the girls at the Harper hall, finding them boring and in need of a serious personality transplant, and thus pretty much ignored them for most of her apprenticeship. It caused only a few problems, since Aaria cared not what they thought of her, making friends with the boys as she got older. Hoping to go on to be a journeywoman, Aaria was torn when asked to go to the weyr as a candidate. On one hand, there was harper hall, and journey woman status one day - hopefully - on the other hand, there was the weyr, and candidate status, and a dragonrider one day - possibly. Eventually, curiousity of the unknown won over, and she accepted the offer to go to the weyr.
Name: Avaliath Pronunciation: AH vah LEE ahth Age: Hatchling Color: Green
Egg: Soot Egg Clutch: Smoke & Mirrors Lineage: Gold Freseath & Bronze Ruinith
Physical Description: Soft, round, and delectably plump in appearance, this little green is positively darling. While it's tempting to say she's a regular fatty, that would just be plain inaccurate (not to mention insensitive!). Her build is undeniably short and round but that doesn't mean a thing. Some might be surprised to find that beneath the softly rounded, smooth exterior, this little green is actually all muscle. It's a deceptive appearance, for her short neck, haunches, and tail all make her a sweet and harmless visual. Even her 'ridges are blunt and rounded as opposed to sharp like most dragons'. Her snout is also short but is possibly the only slender thing about her; however, it's oddly suitable.
Her wings are comfortably large, though not so much so that she ends up tripping and stumbling over them every third step. Long as well as wide, they're a reassuring sight to those who feel any concern over whether or not she'll be able to lift herself and Hers from the ground when the time comes. The bones are thicker and stronger than those of most other dragons, the webbing between them a pale, translucent green that can, to some extent, actually be seen through under some circumstances. In all truthfulness, this dragonet is not as small as her short and plump build might make her seem; she is comfortably average for a green.
Perhaps adding to her cuteness is the fact that she is brightly, undeniably pastel. Her basecoat is a combination of mint and pale grass green with a shine to it that's positively eye-catching. As if that weren't enough, there's the faintest hints of mottling on her back of a green that's half a shade darker. It moves like subtle ripples on her hide, pale shamrock against pastel mint and grass green. It seems to grow darkest by her 'ridges, becoming paler as it ripples out toward her belly and flanks. A truly unique green if ever there was one!
Personality: Bubbly and outgoing, Avaliath won't hesitate to chat up that bronze who's sunbathing. A truly extroverted individual, this little green doesn't mind "making a pest of herself". She loves to gossip, and will do so with anyone who's willing to participate. Even at a young age, she flirts with the boys, showing herself off without a second thought. She knows that she's unique, and doesn't that mean that she's beautiful? Fun-loving and frisky, it's rather hard for her to take some things seriously. Sticks in the mud beware! Lovely Avaliath has a low level of tolerance for boredom, and will take herself elsewhere fast if her current company proves to be yawn-worthy.
In this way, the green is quite self-reliant; she relies on no one person (or dragon) to keep her occupied. If Hers is busy, then there's no doubt that the little green will find something to do on her own, whether it be by herself or with another group of dragons. Perhaps this has something to do, one way or another, with her thought processes. Being the independent little dragon she is, she's quick to form her own ideas and opinions, and not afraid to voice them... even if they're wrong. One of her more exhausting traits is her stubbornness: once she's gotten something into her sweet little head, it's nearly impossible to get it back out. She has no problems admitting she's wrong... if you can prove beyond the shadow of a shadow of a doubt that she is in fact wrong.
Despite her tendency to think and mull things over quite a bit, Avaliath is not a particularly intelligent green. That's not to say that she's lacking, however; no, she has more than her fair share of common sense and dragon logic. Self-assured, she is quick to shrug off teasing insults to herself, although one might want to be careful what they say about her rider. While she's not exactly fierce when crossed, she has an astonishing memory for wrongs that have been done, as well as an amazing aptitude for holding grudges.
