Like Krii, Nasrin continued to watch the hatching, her gaze darting here and there as shells flaked away and their occupants emerged. When the other girl moved forward, she slid half a step back and turned her shoulder to allow more room at the table-- and a better chance at the greens Krii seemed so interested in.
"I'm not sure color interests me so much as temperament," she replied, hard-pressed to keep shades of amusement from her tone. "Something pleasant, perhaps. Calm."
That was a description that certainly didn't fit the brighter of the two greens, which might have explained Nasrin's choice to draw away just a little while the drama between the clutch sisters played out. She shifted her grip on the bowl and let her gaze stray to their bronze brother. He was a handsome one, for all that his behavior didn't match his noble appearance. Her smile deepened as she watched him loll about on the table, begging for his first meal.
"I suppose dignity is a learned quality...look at him."

Jevorin's expression didn't change as the injured green was scooped up by someone who could fix her wing, but the truth was, the candidate was relieved when the tiny creature's pain-wracked cries ceased. His shoulders relaxed visibly and his eyes truly focused on the rest of the clutch as the eggs hatched one after another. As more people Impressed, he started to wonder if perhaps he should be closer. Glancing about, he edged in a little more; it didn't look as if very many people had flits, and he didn't want to take anyone else's chances away from them. It wasn't as if he deserved one of the dainty little beauties any more than anyone else did.
"Yay, someone's fixing her!" Tunimi's delight was plain to those around her, but none so much as Aryna, who was having her slim shoulders bounced upon by an over-enthusiastic brat.
"Oof... settle down up there, before I pitch you into the fire." In spite of the bluerider's ominous threat, Tunimi thought it funny, giggling and looking down at the older female. Aryna made a face. "What are you looking at, girl?" The surly tone had as much effect on Tunimi as the threat had, making the little girl laugh before a crack caught her attention.
"Look at the funny blue!" She laughed as the Shy Sky Blue leaped on his green clutch sister, thinking it almost as funny as Aryna's ominous grumblings. Even though the weyrbrat was thoroughly transfixed on what was happening with the clutch, Aryna's gaze was caught by something else... a movement that was almost furtive. A smile curved along her face, and it wasn't an entirely nice one as her vibrant green eyes rested on Jevorin's form scootching closer to the clutch.
"If you want to Impress, you'll have to get closer than that." And that was all the warning she gave before taking two steps sideways and butting the lad neatly with her hip. Apparently there was a lot more force behind it than there appeared to be, as the candidate went stumbling through the crowd, knocking into those who weren't quick enough to move on their own. It was a wonder that he managed not to spill anything from his bowl with his flailing about. Aryna had the good sense to feign innocence, although a grin flashed across her face for the briefest of instances before she lowered her head to hide it. Well, he was closer now.
"That wasn't very nice!"
"Be quiet. Look, there's a bronze." And just as easily as that, the bluerider casually and effectively redirected the child's attention, Tunimi squealing with delight at the sight of the bronze hatchling.

((TWO HATCHINGS AT ONE WHOO))
The Regal Air bronze sneezed, a very undignified sound, and then flapped his wings. They were mostly dry now, and without any further ado, the young creature leapt into the air, rapidly gaining control over his baby wings. He circled above the heads of the gathered people, but quickly grew tired without food. Drooping through the air, he dropped onto Beka's shoulder from behind, nipping her ear to inform her that he was quite hungry!
The Scared Witless green cowered backwards, cheeping softly, and submitting to her sister. She was not happy to be alone and hungry! She peered at the surrounding people, her eyes finally falling on Tenmor. He would pick her up, wouldn't he?
With a snap like falling timber, the Forewarned Egg split in two, revealing a dark, near-black blue with a very long tail. The blue hissed and snarled, snapping at his sisters and at the nearby Constant Anger Egg, which had just begun to shake. Stalking away from the ruins of his shell, the Forewarned Blue continued making irked noises, tail lashing and wings mantled.
Suddenly, the Confusion Egg began rocking and rolling, jumping and moving, banging against other eggs, most of which didn't react, though a few showed tiny cracks. But with finality, the Confusion Egg slammed against the Lovespell Egg, smashing in the side of that egg breaking open itself. From the Confusion Egg spilled a pale blue, looking quite shaken and perhaps a bit crazed. His wings were ludicrously tiny and delicate, as if they had stopped growing far too early, and clearly he would never fly, unless those wings managed to catch up to his size.
But the Lovespell Egg did not move.
In this post:
Regal Air Egg: bronze Impressed to Beka Scared Witless Egg: green Impressed to Tenmor Forewarned Egg: Hatched irritable blue Confusion Egg: Hatched confused blue with tiny wings Constant Anger Egg: Began rocking Lovespell Egg: side crumpled in, not moving.

As the hatching of the fire lizards progressed, and much to Minji's delight, the eggs where hatching and Impressing, she felt that this clutch would be a good bunch. So far, two healthy bronzes, a blue, and four greens had found an impressor. On her coat with the few eggs still there, she had counted out eight that have yet to hatch, but that was soon thought short of as a green and two more blues appeared.
From the egg that contained one of the blues, however, stuck against another egg, the Lovespell Egg, and caused a dent within the side of the shell, Minji just sighed softly to herself and silently clucked her tongue. So much for none of the eggs being able to hatch, but that was life, and it does go on no matter what.
Either way of that incident, that was only but one egg. It wasn't as if the death of one would affect the rest, and it was then that Minji began to debate with herself as to whether or not she should remove the egg or not. She would really have to wash her coat now as there were egg goop from the fire lizard hatchings. Really, it wasn't a very important coat, but it was indeed her favorite. Perhaps this was just a sign to her that she needed to get a new one. One that was worn down to the point of ripping in several places, but it was indeed one of the best she had ever owned.
Fidgetting slightly from her spot, another person had entered throgh the doorway to where the group of people were hanging about for the fire lizard hatching. She assumed him to be just another one of the riders as he had onn his gear, helmet and all, and strode toward the kitchens, not at all giving so much as a nod to the entirity of the group. After a few moments, he appeared from the kitchens with a bag almost stuffed with food, a roll at hand, and stood right at the end of the entryway of the door. As he finished his roll, he checked to make sure his bag was secured from allowing any water from the rain to slip in and shrugged his leather jacket, hunched his shoulders slightly and stuck his other hand inside that sides pocket and started off out in the rain at a brisk pace.
After the small episode that had caught Minji's attention, she quirked her brow. When her attention returned to the clutch, the two blues where still upon the table as with a green. She quietly cooed to them in a motherly way, but then went silent. They were all adorable, and she somewhat hoped, but didn't hope she would get one.

Beka's attention was scattered as the bronze took to the air, a moment was speant watching him fly, before she turned her attention back to the green and the eggs on the table. The bronze would choose, demand food, and then the rest of the hatching would continue, Beka really wasn't fussed over who he chose, not like she would be in a dragon hatching.
Then there was a light weight on her shoulder, and a nip on her ear that made her turn her head faster than was probably smart. The bronze had landed on her, her of all people and was no demanding things of her. For a moment, it was hard to realise what had actually happened until he screeched in ehr ear, unhappy that his minething wasn't moving very fast. Then she felt the brush of another mind in hers, another bond like Thoth's only weaker.
"Alright, alright you silly thing." She muttered as she grabbed some meat and attempted to quell his noise by shoving a piece of meat in his mouth. This worked for a moment as the bronze struggled to chew the mouthful, swallowing and instantly chirping loudly again. Wouldn't His hurry? He was hungry, and she was moving slowly. Another mouthful, Beka reaching out to her blue as she did so, Happy now? Oh he will be a handful. I like him already. Of course her dragon would like the demanding bronze.
"Ouch, alright!" Giving him another piece of meat as he nipped at her fingers, Beka's glare was unmoving as she though about a name for him. He was demanding, regal as any dragon she'd seen, but that didn't help her name him. Or did it. "Alright, Majesty. Happy now?" Majesty preened, before taking another piece and curling up around her neck to nibble at it.

Tenmor looked down in faint surprise at the creeling Scared Witless Green, who was cowering back from the other people fearfully. She was beautiful even in her fear, her hide a rich emerald green that stood out among her brethren. Smiling benignly Tenmor reached down, carefully plucking the creature up, offering her a scrap of food as he did. He pulled her closer to his chest and she cowered against it, nibbling nervously at the meat, though her hunger was steadily dispelling her initial fear.
Tenmor ran a somewhat tentative finger down her side while she ate, the poor thing twitching in a startled fashion, living up to her name. She settled down a moment later, finishing her meat off as quickly as possible. Despite the beauty of her hide she was somewhat awkward and clumsy, prone to twitchy movements and sudden starts, if there was anything to be said of that. She twisted her head up to look at him, peeping piteously, her eyes a vivid yellow-green. Yes, she was fearful, that much he noticed. Holding her closer, Tenmor straightened. He had already decided on a name, after all.
"Hush now, little Craven," he told the unfortunate green softly, pressing her close. She seemed to take comfort in his presence and her frightened calls softened to a croon. She was happy to be away from all those staring, massive people and her moody siblings. She had found Hers, after all.

The Forewarned Blue chirruped twice, his grouchy behavior heightening to a loud shriek before he flew over to land on Jevorin's shoulder, delicately. His eyes darted around, whirling red once, before he bit down on the boy's ear with force enough to bruise. Clearly Impression was made, but whether or not for the best was in the eye of the beholder. His Impression was followed by the Confusion Blue who delicately folded his wings before jumping forward and half-gliding on the air to cling to Hinuk's shirt. Once the two blues were through, there was left with only the Moodswing Green, who chattered her confusion. Unfortunately, attention was not to be hers -- for three eggs hatched simultaneously at once: Constant Anger Egg, Jovial Egg and the High Feelings Egg. The Moodswing Green shrieked her fury and then threw herself forward -- ontop of the Constant Anger Brown.
The little brown was pale in color, with a very short and stubby tail. And a bad temper. He and the little green rolled around on the table for several moments before the High Feelings Brown, who was nearly black in color, put his foot down and bit them both on the wings simultaneously. The Constant Anger Brown squawked and then threw himself forward to Ketoh, latching to the boy's shirt in surprise, while the Moodswing Green launched over and landed on Rylvan's shoulder. Chittering, she looked at hers expectantly, as though she believed he should do something about that awful brown who bit her. Harumph.
Satisfied, the High Feelings Brown chattered, and then flew forward to land daintily on Krii's head. The peacemaker had chosen His. That left the Jovial Blue, who was almost white in color, save for the big blue rings around his eyes. (His color was in fact a silvery blue, but the rings on his eyes were sky blue and unmistakable.) Bouncing around, the little blue squawked his excitement, unknowingly falling into the Strong Lover Egg. The egg toppled over the table and shattered, emitting an ear-splitting shriek that sent the blue between in terror. From its shattered remains, a large gold hatchling flew back up onto the table and bounced around, spitting her anger. Her eyes whirled a magnificent scarlet before she turned - individually - to each of her clutchsiblings and scolded. Her coloring was a rich goldenrod, so much more brilliant in shade than Ariannalyth's, and she had the most faint white lines around her eyes, as though someone had put eyeliner on her. The queen was undeniably pretty, though her shrieking was high pitched. Furious, she flew over to her chosen - she'd picked right as she hatched, as coincidentally she'd landed right by Minji's feet - and settled on the girl's shoulder. Then she fluted, her eyes whirling with affection. Hungry was she; wouldn't hers feed her?
