Climbing across rocking eggs, somehow, something about that just ... didn't sit well with Beka. Still, she supposed it was good the green wasn't stepping on the hatchling's, the eggs at least had hard shells to protect them if her small talons slipped even that little bit. Hatchlings wouldn't have that, their hides would cut so easily... Still, imagine hatching and having something falling on you, Beka assumed it would be like waking up...
One of the other eggs rocked hard, and she was sent sprawling. In such a manner that Beka bit her lip to stop herself laughing softly at the problem. She didn't seem bothered though, instead launching off and Impressing. One flitt gone to a rider... Beka didn't actually recall. Then again, she knew very few of the riders, so that was no surprise. Despite Thoth's urgings, she didn't go out to make friends, she spent all her time with him, arguing or just silently sitting with him.
Another egg smacked into another, this time though they both hatched, one a bronze, rather fine looking the other.. A green. Beka's heart seemed to twist as she looked at the little creature, a part of her longed to pick it up and cuddle it, make all the hurts go away, give her something else to think about. Still, though, she didn't move. So adorable, so cute... And you say you don't want one. I... Don't. But she's hurt Thoth! Beka snapped back, her heart aching for the poor injured little green, wanting to turn and tell someone to pick her up.
She was so tiny, that couldn't be right, it just couldn't be. She was just... Just... too small, was there something more wrong with her than the obvious pain in the wing? The sooner she Impressed the sooner she could get help... Biting down on her lip as she ran one hand through her hair, willing for her to get up. To chose someone, or for someone to step forward and help her. Anyone would do, that high pitched sound was heartbreaking...

Q'in shrugged, still smiling, though his blue eyes were by now fixed unblinkingly on the eggs and the small green flitter. Yes, he did enjoy storms. It probably wasn't healthy, he realized, but he did love them so. He and Romeath had spent a good deal of time outside in the last storm, listening to the soft patter of rain and the crackle of lightning in the skies. The bronze hadn't even complained, which was a bit rare for him. His lips twitched into a wider smile and he tilted his head to the side slightly to look at Liyanna, listening respectfully to her, mirth bubbling slowly in his eyes.
He chortled slightly at her words, shaking his head. "I know what you mean," he chuckled, gaze flicking back to the Clutch. "I'm afraid that Romeath might see fit to castrate me if I brought one of these home," he said with a slight sigh. "He's fairly good-natured, but he might get a little jealous if I give "his" attention to something else." He shrugged again, turning his head around just in time to catch a flurry of green right in the shoulder. He squawked in loud alarm as the green scrabbled about, flapping her large wings in his face for quite awhile before she seemed to get herself under control.
She creeled happily, latching firmly onto the new Hers. She promptly began to nudge a bewildered Q'in for food until he dutifully handed her the strip he had sniped. She contentedly began to gnaw on it, completely focused on the food. Q'in looked up at Liyanna, a completely lost look on his face. "Er. Yes..." Blinking, he looked back down at the small flitt, a warm smile crinkling the corners of his eyes. "You can't deny it though. They're adorable," he said after a moment, looking back up at Liyanna somewhat bashfully. "And...I suppose she needs a name," he added as an afterthought.
---------------------------------
Krii was so enthralled with the Hatching that she hadn't noticed that someone was speaking to her for a moment. Starting slightly, she turned to look at Nasrin, the words taking a moment to register. "Oh, why thank you!" she said somewhat belatedly, smiling gently at Nasrin and leaning forward to pluck a bit of meat from the bowl. "It's nice of you to do this," she gushed, her amber eyes sparkling. She turned suddenly with a flick of her hair, eyes fixing on the eggs as the sound of cracking shell permeated the chamber.
The Joyous Friendship Green had apparently cracked another egg and had startled herself, fleeing away from the others in a quick blur of flight. She found Hers, but Krii was already focused on the Lively Happiness Bronze, which had apparently injured his much smaller Green Hunger sister. Krii frowned, her eyes widening. The poor creature was holding her wing at a strange angle and screaming piteously. Krii took a few hesitant steps forward, but did not know what to do. She knew how to set something, certainly, but not on a creature so small and with such a wing. She glanced around furtively, hoping that the tiny green would choose Hers.

Even as more people were beginning to arrive, it seemed like everything went by slowly. Of course, it was sometimes good for time itself to slow down, but there were some things that had to be caught up by Minji's attention. Though the longer the candidate thought about leaving to attend to her business, the more obligued to she actually felt about leaving the clutch of fire lizard eggs.
From the first hatching of the lovely green, Minji's focus became attentive at the people arriving as well as for the eggs. She had this odd feeling that she had to wait until every one of these creatures Impressed, or else find a life out in the wild. Though the former of the two was more optioned to Minji, but you couldn't force a creature born of the wild to just become tame just like a snap of the finger.. Let aside fire lizards and any other creature that are born straight off to where someone who was crazy enough to train them properly. But still, Minji felt like the protector of this particular clutch. Even if it was by accident that she came across it, it just weighed slightly upon her to just not even care a little about the eggs that would've drowned in that crevice.
Before Minji could think anything else, the first 'lizard Impressed. Minji had clapped for the young green as she latched herself upon the man who was talking to the Weyrwoman, Liyanna. It could not be helped that Minji giggled only slightly at the action taken by the green, but of course, memorable things can be remembered about it. Too bad she wasn't caring so much as before on her sketch book.
The cracking of more eggs were definient to Minji's ears as her blue gaze traveled away from the green and her new person to the clutch. By the time her gaze settled upon the clutch, a bronze and green had hatched. More so a big bronze upon the young green.
At first, Minji didn't feel any remorse about the hatching of the two, but then, as the bronze retreated, leaving the green with a wing bent at an odd angle, Minji's heart leapt to the fact that there was an injured fire lizard. With the wanting of helpigng the poor thing, like most of the other people who did not want to hear such a heart wrenching sound, Minji refrained herself from edging closer to help it. Surely someone was going to help it. Fire lizards did not exactly Impress like dragons did, but there were some similarities about the two, though not one person would probably think of such.
As Minji's attention was kept upon the hurt green, the bronze was making way toward Minji, or so it seemed. As the creature came nearer, it begame apparant that the large bronze did not settle upon the young woman's shoulder, creeling for food, but toward the candidate beside her that she had previously talked to.
"Congrats, he's a darling.." Minji clapped moments after congradulating Lienau of the event. Though she wondered what exactly would happen if a fire lizard decided to choose her. Would it happen like the first Impression of the green? Or would it end up something like the Impression of the bronze? Surely, however it happens, it won't be as bad as when she thinks about it later in life about her first Impression to a fire lizard.

In the Lower Caverns they had been, both females working on the chores and duties forced upon them by the Headwoman. Ah well, they were Candidates – and they were expected to work their behinds off if found doing nothing for too long. Amir was already used to it, the Weyr had always been her home – and there was always something around waiting to be finished. Nayza had slowly grown accustomed to life in the Weyr, and to the early rising schedules Candidates possessed. Both girls were currently finishing washing the once existing mountain of dirty plates and mugs, before a white haired lad entered the room, carrying yet another stack of dirty and greasy platters.
”You have got to be kidding me, Keizo! Where did you get those?!” “From the late riders that got their meals, not my fault.” “Aww, and just when I thought we were already done, Amir!” “Hush, the both of you. Wailing about it won’t get them cleaned u- Mmm? Chast, what is it? You already ate you chubby beast!”
She attempted to quiet him down, his excited chattering beginning to get annoying – though it was occasionally drowned by the sound of thunder. Had the storm upset him so much? Sure, they did got him nervous every now and again, but never to such an exten- Wait, was he vibrating?! The female placed the place on the counter, before her hands grabbed the restless flitter that flew around her. She could feel the vibrations running through his body, each time more stronger as if trying to defy the ruckus created by the storm. By Faranth, was he actually humming?
All who would like a chance at Impressing a firelizard, there is a clutch discovered by candidates in the Lower Caverns! Bring your own meat!
”Amir! A hatching! Oh, can we please g-“ “What are you blabbering about, you two have dishes to clean!” “Oh, shush Keizo! Come on, a firelizard it’s just what you need to stop being such a grumpy man!” “But I don’t wan—Hey! Let go! Gaaah!”
A chuckle escaped the older female, shaking her head lightly as she watched Nayza drag the poor albino kid away and into the room where the hatching would be occurring. Grabbing one of the clean plates, she filled it with the left over meatrolls and spiced wherry meat from breakfast, before following behind the two. There was enough in the plate to satiate a few hatchlings, seeing as she would be sharing the contents with Nayza and Keizo, and even Chast managed to snatch a piece of meat without being scolded this once.
Already three had hatched, a Bronze and a Green that had impressed, and a second Green. Though, among the crowd of people Amir couldn’t exactly see it. Nayza had managed to make her way to the front, having dragged Keizo all along, before she spotted the injured firelizard, cooing to her softly.
”Aww, the poor darling is hurt!” “I can see that… Now stop cooing to it, or at least let me go first before you attract her attention. I am not interested in those beasts.” “Keizo! They are not beasts! They are beautiful and delicate creatures – and one of them would surely do you some good!” “Good?! They are annoying, chattering and overly active things! With wings!” “Both of you, calm down. You’ll scare the whole clutch between before it finishes hatching.”
Though the both of them together could be a handful, Amir had to admit she did enjoy having Keizo and Nayza around for company. One thing was certain, she would never be bored when they were present.
---
Though Liyanna had seemed anything but pleased to see a group of soaked Candidates, it seemed the flitter hatching was more important for the time being. No doubt they would eventually be scolded alter on, but for now they were danger-free, seeing the Weyrwoman had disappeared. Ketoh sighed lightly, before watching Minji arrange the eggs, no sooner was she gone and the artist returned – carrying a medium sized bowl with meat inside. After she’d taken a portion, Ketoh followed – though he was rudely cut by his younger brother as the blond pushed himself in front of the older male. His hands now filled with meat, he stood as close to the clutch as he would be allowed, eying with interest all the large eggs he could spot. Ketoh simply shook his head, taking a moderate portion of meat before he went to join Minji and the others close to her, though he remained silent for the most part, It was fun to watch the eggs hatch and impress, and he couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle at Hinuk’s facial expression when the Bronze impressed someone else but him. This promised to be interesting indeed.

She'd been stalking the Lower Caverns, as usual. There was not an inch of the twisting tunnels she did not know, not a fingers-breadth of floor she had not trod upon. The sounds of the Hatching--as well as the clarion call that heralded it--did not interest her. Tiramnet cared mostly for her hunting-birds, and as they had been exercised, fed, and carefully tended early that morning, she had little reason to be outside, where the sun hurt her blood-tinted eyes and could so easily burn the cursed pale skin she wore. But then..
Keening cries of pain, the wavering sounds striking even here. And they did not stop. Taking off at a dash, her feet treading the dark hallways with utter certainty, Tira followed the sound of the firelizard in distress with uncanny accuracy. Though she knew only the tending of birds, there was little doubt in her mind that an injury on one flying creature would be much like the other. She skidded into the room, blinking as furiously as Swift when the nighthawk was brought into the sunlight, pinpointing the Clutch more by ear than by eye.
Shouldering her way through the press of people--she would never get used to the masses of humanity in the Weyr--Tira rudely made her way to the front, pulling out the little satchel of hawking supplies she always carried as she did. Soft-cured jerky, a spare hood, jesses in several sizes... and ah, what she was looking for. Tightening her fingers on the kit meant for injuries from aerial battles (for the lizardhawks she trained sometimes strove to capture others of their ilk), the girl finally figured out what her nearsighted, depth-perception-deprived eyes were trying to tell her.
A firelizard with a broken wing.
Paying no heed to the reactions of those around her, Tira deftly picked up the piteous little green as she would any eyas, tucking the head (with those sharp teeth) between her index and middle fingers, and the hind legs between ring and pinkie finger. Scooting backwards, the young woman got out of the way so the rest could enjoy their little Hatching, but this young thing needed her attention. She would give it to some other person to Impress to, but she could at least splint the wing.
Stretching out the damp appendage carefully, the falconer narrowed her eyes, clicking softly to the firelizard as she would with a young bird. It was snapped across the ulna and radius, where the delicate bones crossed. Setting the limb across her knee, Tiramnet clipped it to her dark pants, intent on her work. There was no chance of the tiny thing escaping a grip which had held struggling hawks--they had far more cutting talons, and the added slipperiness of feathers.
Pulling out a pair of small metal rods, she narrowed her world to nothing but the slipped bones and the fine tools in her hands. At least, Tira thought mirthlessly, she's not cut. I never want to do stitches on a flying creature ever again...

The little green squeaked as hands came close to her and she creeled - loudly. Her eyes whirled and she flapped her good wing, and as all animals did, she squirmed about in terror as she was held. But that terror faded in recognition of what was happening - which took her only a few seconds, surprisingly. The person was helping her. Chittering her gratitude, she went still, or as still as she could be with her entire body trembling like a leaf. The girl was helping her, even if she was scary. The Hunger Green made a decision. She couldn't escape, and the person was helping her, so -- she squawked, loudly, in an attempt to make her hunger known, her eyes whirling a myriad of rainbows. Scary person was hers, and her anger at her clutchbrother was completely gone.
While the Hunger Green was being tended to by Tiramnet, the Shy Sky Blue egg rocked. And rocked. And rocked. However, no cracks formed in the egg, and it was soon overshadowed by its sibling the Forewarned Egg which gave an abrupt shudder before splitting into five very large pieces. What was revealed in the egg gook was nothing more and nothing less than a large blue firelizard the abrupt color of a robin's egg, with ice-blue spots over both eyes. The little creature looked around and chirped in confusion, as if he didn't understand what had happened, and then rapidly skittered across the table where the eggs sat. At the very end, he came to an abrupt halt, nearly falling off the wooden table in the process, but his claws held him steady... and only the lower half of his body slipped. Chirruping in exasperation, he pulled himself back onto the table and looked around at the people surrounding him.
The Yucky Egg cracked, and the Shy Sky Blue Hatchling gave it a thoughtful look. Then he scurried over to the egg and promptly jumped onto it, causing it to break and reveal a green so dark that she was near black, save for small rings around her tail. The blue playfully chattered at her, and she squawked indignantly. Both wings were spread and waved lightly, flinging the rest of the egg goo down across the table, and then the little green fluted to her clutchbrother in what could clearly be described as the firelizard equivalent of 'Jerk!' before she bounced forward. And made her choice, a woman (Nayza) in the front. She promptly flung herself off the table and latched onto her shirt, her eyes whirling rapidly in her hunger.
* * *
"Castrate you?" Liyanna teased. "That would be unfortunate." She let the suggestive tone linger in the air. She was not naturally a flirt, but Q'in's wording did amuse her, and she couldn't leave that one alone when he had made it so easy to comment upon. Her gaze turned to the small firelizard that had chosen him, and she effectively went to ignoring the hatching. She was fairly sure none would pick her and she'd hand them off to Q'in if any flew near her. Obviously, he had no problem with firelizards, and they clearly had no problem with him. She was fairly good at repelling them. It was probably the great big flashing I DON'T LIKE YOU AND I'LL FEED YOU TO MY QUEEN sign that was stuck to her forehead. Firelizards were just noisy creatures.
They were cute, though, at times. "If you like having your hearing blasted out, I suppose. They do resemble little dragons." She shrugged and looked at the little green more closely. "She's rather bold. What does Romeath think of her? I suppose it could be worse. At least with a green he does not contend for that much attention. Not that Ariannalyth would be placated by that idea. I expect she'd take offense that a green thought she was deserving of me, if it were me in your position. I think you should name her 'Burden' - she certainly doesn't seem to have any problem burdening you with her presence. She is cute though. You could have done worse."

The trio of Candidates had been together with one another, viewing the hatching and silently talking to themselves about it. Nayza was more than relieved to see the green being tended to, and soon the tell-tale sign of rainbow eyes showed the little darling had impressed to the girl. That was good, at least the flitt had found someone caring -- and that knew how to deal with such injuries. Moments later she had been arguing with Keizo in whispers, the drudge saying how the Forwarned Blue was amusing and how clever the Shy Sky Blue was for standing on the egg. Nayza proceeded to scold him, saying the little dunce of a flitt could have injured the little green as she hatched.
And while they continued Amir gazed at the Yucky Green that had hatched, impressed by the dark hued hide she possessed. She was rather unique, she noted, the female smiling to herself while she stroked her Chast. And soon, the dark beauty was making her way towards Nayza, fluting what seemed to be a 'Jerk!' to her blue clutchbrother before looking for attention from Nayza -- who had been too busy arguing with Keizo.
"Nayza, dear, you have a visitor." "What is it, Ami- Oh!"
No sooner she had turned her head, the little dark being jumped towards her, clinging to her shirt as she creeled loudly this time -- just to make sure hers was aware that she was there, and that she was hungry. "Aww, you're adorable!" she cooed, scooping up the dark hued flitter in her arms, and noticing the ringed tail. That was definitely something special -- though in her eyes the whole flitt was special. "Yes, is my little Princess hungry? Come on, let's get you some food, yesyes!" Though she was using a mixture of normal and baby talk, the firelizard didn't seemed to mind -- crooning happily. At least hers, unlike that stupid blue, knew how to treat a lady!
"I still think that blue is cle-" "Keizo, don't. Let her feed the flitt in peace, at the very least." "Oh, fine... Party pooper..."

If Tira was surprised that the green stopped struggling--and she was, for few animals would have, least of all flying ones--she did not show it, manouvering the bones to their correct positions before clamping a splint into place. "There," she said softly, releasing the little green, who only huddled closer. "Hey-- you-- I can't--" she protested, as the tiny creature shivered and meeped at her. Tiramnet glared at the green, making her shrink away, before giving in.
It was the work of moments to put away her tools and pull out the soft-cured jerky she kept for training-treats for her birds, ripping off little pieces with her teeth to feed to the green firelizard. Another creature to train--but one that (hopefully) would be far simpler to train than any of her hunting-birds. Tira just really didn't have the desire to train any more creatures until she had perfected her methods, perhaps to the point where she would finally be able to convince the Beastcrafters than falconry deserved its own craft.
Lost in thought, Tira almost missed the little burp and yawn that heralded sleep for the green, the exhausted creature passing out on her leg. With a sigh, the young woman picked up her new charge, tucking her (after a moment of thought) along her neck, supported and concealed by the scarf that kept her neck from burning. Without any more ado, she slunk to the back, staying in case of any more injuries. She could be needed--but she'd make sure they Impressed first, before she fixed them. She didn't need any more creatures like the little pest she'd picked up.
Which needed a name. A moment of thought, and she decided. The little green would be "Tiny."

Nasrin returned Krii's smile with one of her own, a gentle curl of lips that seemed for the moment untouched by the excitement charging the atmosphere around them. Just a touch of humor softens the solemnity of her eyes. "You're welcome... I wish I could take credit for the kindness, but the bowl was forced on me," she admitted. "I'm glad to have helped, though."
The bowl in question is transferred from hip to the curl of her arm, braced against her ribs and leaving her other hand free to clutch its own bloody burden of meat.
"They certainly waste no time, do they?" The Holder followed the latest green's passage through the air, taken aback by the little creature's rapid flight. For a second, she seemed on the verge of stepping back, sliding away from the table-- but there are people already behind her, and withdrawing would only cause unnecessary confusion in an already confusing scene. The girl steadied herself with a breath and turned to look at the remaining eggs.
She hoped, privately, that none of the infants waiting to break free of their shell were struck by the whim to hang from her shirt with their too-sharp talons. Or worse, attack fingers smeared with blood. Those tiny teeth looked all too efficient for the purpose of shredding flesh...

The Shy Sky Blue Hatchling chirped and bounced across the table again, looking thoughtful. His eyes whirled, and then he made his choice. His wings flapped rapidly, bringing him into the air about a foot before he fell back onto the table again. Distressed, he cried out, but he was not to be deterred. He went back to flapping his wings repeatedly before he was able to keep himself airborne, and then he glided over to land quite daintily on Keizo's shoulder, as if he's known all along exactly who he wanted but was just waiting to see if anyone else picked up on it. He did not cry out again, though he gave the man a look, eyes whirling rapidly in hunger, that made it clear he wanted food.
It was at that moment that not one, not two, but three eggs split all at once. The Regal Air Egg fell apart to reveal a dark bronze, nearly black in color so shadowy was he, and positively mammoth in size. Coincidentally, he seemed to possess an almost gold sheen. There would be no denying that he was a bronze, but some people might mistake him for another color. He blinked twice and chirped in confusion before rolling over on the table, much the way a feline might have. He was oblivious to how silly he might have looked, as his gaze was sweeping over the different bowls of food - he was hungry. They had food, why was no one springing to hand it to him right that second?
With him went the Moodswing Egg and the Scared Witless Egg, both of which shattered to reveal greens. The Moodswing Green was a bright, lime green color, and she had forest green 'stripes' down her back, which no doubt looked strange, but she did not seem to notice. Her gaze was turned onto her clutch sister as she started growling menacingly; this one had dared to hatch at the same time as her? (She was completely overlooking her silly bronze brother, who did not appear to be aware of her presence either.) Her growling made the Scared Witless Green (who was probably the more attractive of the two as she was a rich, emerald green with a nearly gemstone hue to her) shriek and the little firelizard actually launched herself across the table, clearly living up to her name. The Moodswing Green threw herself forward and started scolding rapidly, while her sister cowered down.

MOre eggs exploded and Minji's hand was almost of the verge of spazzing in it's own little ways. Every now and again, it would made an involentary jerk as if to grasp a pencil, only to realize that there was no pencil in which to grasp and a nasty sqelshing noise was slightly heard as the meat in Minji's grasp became tenderized slightly. Oh how painful it was for Minji not to distract herself from the wants of drawing this hatching, but who knew, it was probably going to be best to test how long she could go without going crazy since she'd have to spend a good majority of her life dedicated to the dragon who would claim her as theirs.
Amonst those dreaded thoughts of her sketch book, fire lizard babies and eggs cracking drew the attention of the artist as she paused a moment to see each individual fire lizard. Indeed, they were unique, and to this very point now, not one was even closely related to another, to which was of no surprise since Minji knew that, no matter how a fire lizard looked toward another, each was different. Surprisingly enough, the only thing Minji could not do to detest this theory of hers was if twins existed. Did twin fire lizards exist? And if so, did they look alike and would it ever happen to dragons. Curious indeed of how things ticked inside of her mind.
To the nasty meat still clung within Minji's hand, and the rememberance of that sickening sound of the meat against her palm and fingers, reminded Minji to hold her hand out with the offering of food in her hand. Moments later, Minji withdrew her hand and looked down at the meat and then toward the few fire lizards that hatched. Three of them, one bronze, two greens. The darling things they were, but in truth the dark, massive bronze did kind of intimidate her a little as much as the nasty green that was releasing a temper tantrum in what Minji thought of as such. Should she offer the meat again and see what happens, or should she just wait until one approaches her? Either way, Minji's hand was held half way inbetween the table and where she still remained.

Q'in looked thoroughly depressed by the thought of castration. "Yes, it would be quite sad. I might need them someday," he admitted with a theatric sigh and a sagging of his wiry shoulders. The small green began to twitter in a reassuring manner to Q'in, butting her small head against his cheek as she came to rest on his shoulder, done with her first meal. She keened again, clearly eager for food, or a name. Q'in hoped that it was the latter, for he had no more food at his immediate disposal.
He glanced up quickly when Liyanna asked what Romeath thought. That was a good question indeed. He asked the bronze just that and got a curt reply that fit perfectly with Liyanna's name suggestion. "He feels that Burden would be a good name, though he used language that I wouldn't dare repeat around you," Q'in said with a grimace, reaching up to stroke the flitt. Burden leaned into his finger, nuzzling it gently and thrumming in a soft, high voice. Q'in couldn't help but allow his face to break into a wide grin. "Yes, she certainly is adorable. Good thing she isn't ugly," he added cheerily, paying no attention at all to the Hatching, focused only on Liyanna as he was.
---------------------------
Tenmor watched the girl caring for the little Hunger Green quietly, his gaze transfixed by the deftness with which she cared for the small thing. He turned away to watch the rest of the eggs hatch, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. The Yucky Green Impressed almost immediately, fixing herself to a woman almost immediately. The Shy Sky Blue Impressed as well, attaching himself to Keizo.
Tenmor flipped his gaze to the next set of hatchlings. The Regal Air Egg revealed a handsome, very dark bronze, who immediately appeared to be hungry. Tenmor stepped closer, offering a handful of meet to the small male even as the Moodswing and Scared Witless Eggs broke open to reveal greens. Both of them appeared very agitated and twitchy as they cowered and launched themselves about. Tenmor made sure that the meat was an equal distance from all three, watching impassively, wondering if such an offering would make a difference.
---------------------
Krii smiled back at Nasrin, her attention diverted somewhat from the Hatching, though she still kept an eye on the process. "No problem. And no, they don't seem to waste any time," she said brightly, watching as more eggs hatched, revealing a blue, greens, and a bronze. She looked with keen interest at the greens, who were beautiful enough with their variety of hues. Her fingers ached to touch one, but she restrained herself, held tilting to the side slightly.
"Do you have any color you hope to Impress?" Krii asked after a moment, watching the progress of the latest hatchlings with interest. She herself was biased to any color of flitt. Any firelizard would be a welcome addition, since all of them were so beautiful and bright. The little Moodswing Green was eye-blindingly bright and Krii found herself attracted to greens above all else for some reason. She shuffled closer, but only a bit, waiting earnestly for another Impression to be made.

They were rather adorable, Rylvan privately decided as he watched--wedged between two of the more anxious onlookers. The close proximity made him feel uncomfortable and her wondered if the small fire lizards somehow felt the same. It would be very odd to stumbling blinking into the world only to find yourself surrounded by a dozen or more pair of eyes watching your every move. A bit suffocating to think about..
Curiously he continued to watch and not make any attempts to get near the little creatures. While some of the lizards chose people on their own accord, others were holding out bits of meat to to tempt the critters closer for impression. Poor things. Ryvlan reached back in his small pouch and retrieve one of his morning snatches; a second meatroll which he placed with the half-eaten one already in his palm. This he offered out towards the hatching clutch..
Being hungry was something Rylvan could sympathize with. He did not really know how the entire impressing thing would work, but Rylvan would be content just to feed the little creatures. He didn't need (maybe secretly would like) one. The only thought that really crossed his mind was to fill their bellies, to make the little lizards happy..

The glares shot by both Nayza and Princess where unnoticed, the drudge currently focused on the Shy Sky Blue. He had tried to fly, failed, before trying again and again. Finally the little creature was in the air, and a small weight pressed down on his shoulder. Keizo had to admit he was marveled by how well the little flitt had landed on him, so daintily and careful. He didn’t even shriek into his ear, though the pangs of hunger he felt and te look on the lizard confirmed the boy was hungry. Grabbing a handful of meat, the blue was fed – eating each piece as daintily as Princess had – if not a bit mocking. His little Wit was mocking Princess behavior, making the green shriek in protest.
And the albino couldn’t help but laugh. Already, he loved his Wit.
Meanwhile, Hinuk only had eyes for the Bronze, the brat grinning before literally shoving a piece of meat right in front of the flitt’s face. He couldn’t make him more tempted to eat the meat, save for just grabbing the flitt and stuffing the meat down his throat, though Hinuk had a feeling Ketoh would just scold him, and the flitt would bolt away. And he wanted to have a high-rank firelizard, not scare it away. Never mind the hideous greens, they were not for him. No, he was only deserving of a high rank. The ugly greens could go to Ketoh or anyone else, for all he cared.
[Muse dead. XD]

At least someone was looking after the injured green, she didn't seem to be that upset anymore, probably hungry more than anything else. Weren't they all? It would be horrible to be trapped in those eggs, with no food for Faranth knows how long. They probably wouldn't even realize they were hungry until they actually needed to hatch. Beka knew hunger, it was impossible not to, but it was unlikely the hunger had ever gotten as bad as the flitters seemed to be suffering from.
Beka's heart melted for the green as she skittered away from her sibling, and despite the original dislike of the idea of a flitt, she found herself wanting to cuddle the poor thing. How often had she cowered from someone bigger, from someone yelling? Why had the other green even started on her? Why did here always have to be one in a clutch? Scowling darkly at the darker coloured green, Beka glanced away from the both of them, she wouldn't break them apart. Better not even to look that way with the frustration and anger it would cause, not to mention the fact that the moment she looked at the poor green cowering away from her sister, she wanted to protect it, wanted to make sure no one would ever hurt it.
You'd make a good mother. Wash your mouth out. I would not! You would look after a baby flitt well, is that not being a mother. No. It's not. Where do you get theses ideas from?
Silence met this last statement, Beka scowling at nothing from her dragons words. Where Thoth had managed to pick up mothering from wanting to care for a flitt she'd never guess, it was disturbing though. A flitt was nothing like a child, she just felt sympathetic for the baby, that was it! Nothing more, great, now Thoth was starting to make her question her own mind, brilliant. Thanks. Anytime Mine.
