It was mid-morning, and the lower caverns was bustling with breakfast activity. A young woman practically dance through the crowd, her curly hair bound in a braid with hot pink ribbons, her high-heeled boots clicking on the floor. An old brownrider grumped as she bumped by him, and she giggled. "Sorry, sir!"
Without waiting to see if the apology would be accepted, Fariel skipped away, making her way to the pot of klah hung over the fire. She simply could not begin her morning without it. She waited impatiently in line ("Save some for the fishes, kid!") until it was her turn, and then she searched through the different mugs to try and find the largest one. Finally finding one that satisfied her, she balanced her notebook under her elbow as she filled it up. Then she realized that she didn't know how to take the book out from under her elbow and not spill the klah, so she had to walk with her elbow pinned to her side to an empty table.
Breathing a sigh of relief when she managed to make it to the table without spilling, she set her cup down and then sat in her usual half-slumped position. Taking a sip, she yelped as it burned her tongue, then rolled her eyes when someone gave her a disapproving look. Letting the klah sit to cool, she opened her notebook and sat back, grinning at passers-by. "Anyone wanna place a bet with me?"

” Anyone wanna place a bet with me?” ”Bets? Well, you got our attention.” “What is the betting about?”
The first to speak was an albino male, the Weyr drudge having been passing through with Nayza before catching Fariel’s words. Intrigued, he’d stopped, nearing the female as Nayza followed besides him. They were often together, working on assigned chores – and he had known Nayza for a few turns now, enough for them both to consider themselves as family.
”Well?”
Clearly, Keizo was not the patient type.
((Short XD))

Hearing a voice, Fariel swiveled around to face it and almost did a double-take at the sight of a completely white person. Blushing faintly, she managed to cover her surprise with a sunny smile. She didn't particularly care what a person's looks or rank were, anyway, as long as they were willing to play with her. There was a girl beside him, too, who she vaguely recognized as another candidate.
"The clutch! What else?" She exclaimed, waving at the seats opposite her in an invitation for the pair to sit down. "I'm taking bets about the eggs. What colors you think there will be, who will Impress what, that kind of thing." Her eyes lit up with excitement as she spoke. She thought it was wonderful, a whole clutch filled with things to guess about.
