What have you got, Mine?
Surroulath shuffled over to where His was studying something intently, something small and with waving legs. The brown snorted at the insect in his rider’s hand before shaking himself like a canine. Clearly, he didn’t like the insect, which made J’rin grin up at the dragon briefly before giving the bug one last glance and releasing it. It crawled across his hand, buzzing its wings in a decidedly irritated fashion before pausing briefly, then launching itself into the air and buzzing away. Surroulath watched it for a moment, his tail twitching in thought before he turned back to J’rin. Why do you play with such things? It wasn’t distaste that colored the brown’s voice, but a genuine curiosity. He wanted to know why these things fascinated His so much. J’rin simply shrugged.
“I just like them is all.” Surroulath snorted at His, though he looked vaguely amused before resting his jaw against the lad’s knee and gazing up at him adoringly. How could anyone resist? Smiling down at his dragon, J’rin lovingly scratched the brown’s eye ridge, a place he knew that dragons loved to have scratched. Indeed, Surroulath’s eyelids drooped one by one, and he gave a low, rumbling croon of appreciation.
I like that. I do not want you to stop. But I am hungry. This brought a grin to J’rin’s face once again. His smiles were much more common since his Impression several days ago, and his fascination with his new companion was clear. J’rin had never been an easy smiler, although that didn’t mean that he was unfriendly. He got on well with others (most of the time) and was kind to everyone unless they were unkind to him first… and even then, the worst thing J’rin ever did was ignore someone. A rather peaceful boy, without all the scuffling and rough housing that most lads were prone to, he chose to spend his time instead poring over anything that caught his attention.
And for the last few days, that thing had been Surroulath. Every inch of him had been diligently studied, as J’rin had found that when the brown slept, he well and truly slept. Nothing would disturb him, and it was a perfect time for His to get a feel of that wonderfully colored hide, or get a close look at the wing structure, study his toes, or whatever else fascinated him. Although truthfully, he found the times when Surroulath was sleeping to be so peaceful that he often ended up curled up with the dragon in spite of the hard stone couch that he slept on. Now, he just gave the dragonet one last scratch before getting up. “All right, let’s go find you some food then.” Making a pleased sound, Surroulath shuffled after His, eager to fill his cavernous belly.

L'nau and Varaneth were already at the feeding area. L'nau was industriously chopping up meat for the Brown, who waited hungrily but patiently. L'nau smiled, glancing over at Varaneth for a moment, fondness in his eyes. It had been a few days, and he could still barely believe his luck at impressing such a wonderful Brown.
He finished cutting a piece of meat to the appropriate size and handed it to Varaneth, who gobbled it down with polite eagerness--if such a term could be understood. He nuzzled his rider's hand, eyes whirling a happy green which slowly began to replace hungry red. Thank you, mine. But I am still hungry![/color]
L'nau chuckled and obediently started cutting up more meat. Hearing footsteps, he looked up and saw J'rin and his dragon approaching. He stopped cutting for a moment to wave. "I see you've come to feed your walking stomach!" He joked, grinning.

"Acryl, behave yourself! There is no such wanton of your constant nonsense."
Minji was having to deal with a somewhat very distressed gold fire lizard since the Impression to Laylath. It appeared to be so that the young gold did not appreciate the fact that she was left in the candidate barracks when the thrumming of the dragons told tales of the hatching. What seemed to have irritated her more was when her mistress returned, she did not come alone by herself with the expected food she had wanted, but with the delicately figured green young dragoness.
Minjimine, Acryl is not going to harm me.. Yes, she dislikes me, but I do not think she will allow any harm come from herself or from others.
Laylath was curled upon her stone couch in the designated room that Hers and she had picked. She rather enjoyed how the feel of her stone couch was. It took about four tries in finally succeeding in choosing this particular room because the stone couch provided not one out of line bump. If anything, they were lucky to have obtained it without so much bickering from the other weyrlings, although Minji did not like having to jump from room to room because her Laylath found her couch to be uncomfortable. But whatever made the young green happy, Minji was willing to 'bend' the rules abit.
Besides, Acryl somewhat likes the fact that I have a 'unique' coloing to my hide.
The green, if anything, gave her Bonded a grin asbest she could manage in a dragonic way before cocking her head to a side and looking toward the door of their room. It was before a moment or two of pondering silence that the green picked herself up daintily and stretched, forelegs stretched before her and her very sharp claws protruding to reveal the points of each before the green took up her normal stance, shuffled her wings and placed them securely by her sides and stepped off of her couch. From taking a couple of steps stealthily from her couch, Laylath craned her neck to view her Bonded before looking toward the door again and stalking off. To where, Minji did not know, but once her green reached the closed door did she finally speak up.
"My love, where are you wanting to go?"
Minji was stroking the golden hide of Acryl, who seemed to be enjoying the final attention that she was given before the green came into the picture, before lazily opening her eyes and letting a low growl out before turning it into a croon as Minji easily found her favored spot.
I would like to go out.. Do you want to come?
It was true as to the green wanting to go outside, as Minji soon to realize that a slowly creeping, and unexpected, hunger started to settle in the near pits of her stomach. Before long, Minji smiled and picked up Acryl gently before heading toward the door. The gold did not really want to go, but saying she was recieving alot of attention lately, probably for Minji making up to her, she decided to not fight back and just go.
Once outside of their room, Laylath led the way, albeit in a predatory way for the green took careful steps and casted a sideways look every now and again before proceeding until the group had made it to where two browns and their riders were getting some food.
Proud of her skills, the green chirped happily and looked to Hers. Minji nodded and smiled, stroking Acryl and heading up toward the group ahead. Before long, the greenweyrling had set the golden form of Acryl down, only to find out that the fire lizard had taken to the skies for search of her own food, leaving Minji to cut up the food for Laylath who waited every so patiently.
As Minji went off and returned with some meat, the weyrling began to easily cut fist sized chunks before she handed them one by one to the green. Laylath seemed to be smart enough to know that she was not going to get another bite until she finished her previous food and had swallowed it. When Minji went back to cutting some more pieces off, and soon feeding them off to the green, being told that she was no longer hungry, did the weyrling look to both of the other weyrlings.
"Hullo, sorry I did not introduce myself at first,"
Minji gave a half-hearted smile before she continued on.
"But you know how the dragons come first.. Anyways, I'm Minji, ex-Sr. Apprentice artist, and i would be the bonded of Laylath."
She looked at each of the two weyrlings before glancing toward their dragons and then at her own. If anything, Minji's eyes held alot of love for the green Laylath, and she felt no remorse of being an ex-artist.. At least, for the time being. Laylath came first, and no matter what would happen, Minji would never trade her rank of being bonded to Laylath over Sr. Apprentice.

Look, Mine! There are already some here. And J’rin knew that by ‘some’, his brown meant fellow weyrlings. So it was that the brown boy gave a sort of lazy smile to the others accompanied by a wave. Surroulath shuffled faster, his eyes whirling at the prospect of getting to socialize with his clutchmates. But he was still hungry, so he wanted to eat first. Hurry Mine, I am starving.
“Yes, I can see that.” J’rin grinned at his dragonet as he joined the others, nodding to L’nau and Varaneth. “Walking stomach indeed.” Taking up a knife, he began to work at cutting up meat for his own Surroulath, who was waiting on the verge of impatience. J’rin worked quickly, slicing up several pieces of meat and feeding them one at a time to his brown. Surroulath would have preferred a brisker pace, but as it was, His was eyeing him to make sure he was chewing properly, so the little brown was forced to masticate his food like a good dragon should. J’rin looked up from feeding his dragon and offered a friendly smile to Minji. She was familiar; there were no strangers at Sanctum, but he nodded at her introduction and decided it would only be polite to return the favor.
“J’rin of brown Surroulath.” How he loved saying that! It brought a smile to his face every time. “Senior apprentice beastcrafter.” There was pride also in this title; he enjoyed working with the beasts and had no intentions of quitting. Of course Surroulath came first, but once the brown was old enough to be a little more self-reliant, J’rin would go right back to what he’d been doing before. Hopefully he would still be able to walk the tables and achieve his Journeyman status. “That’s right, chew your food. Don’t think that just because I’m not watching I don’t know what you’re up to.” The warning words were spoken with a soft smile as the lad handed his brown another piece of meat.
Yes, Mine replied Surroulath as he chewed dutifully.
Just then, a little blue flit appeared, chattering animatedly and clearly upset about something. He perched on Surroulath’s head, causing the brown to blink and look at Laylath questioningly, as if to ask the green what was on his head, although he doubtlessly knew the answer already. However, J’rin shook his head at his flitter even as he carved another piece of meat up for his dragon. “You’ll have to wait; this meat is for the little ones.” The blue, not liking the sound of this, screeched loudly enough to make the weyrling wince slightly. “Meany, wait your turn. And do it quietly or go elsewhere.” Clearly not being told what to do, the blue chattered rapidly at his bonded, the sounds running together and mixed with all kinds of chirps and clicks before Meany took wing and vanished, though not before giving a final spat to his rant.
Shaking his head again, J’rin fed Surroulath another piece. The brown’s eyes whirled with amusement even as he chewed his food diligently. He will soon forget you scolded him, Mine, and come back begging again.
Precisely what I’m afraid of.
Surroulath rumbled and politely asked for another piece of meat.

Varaneth watched the other Brown curiously, using him as a distraction from his overwhelming hunger as he waited for L'nau to finish cutting a few pieces. He decided not to say anything unless Surruolath did first--he was rather shy, and anyway, they were probably both too hungry to concentrate on conversation.
Here you go, Vareneth, L'nau said as he finished chopping up some bits of meat. Vareneth eagerly took the food, his eyes whirling contentedly for a moment, green replacing the red at least for a few minutes. L'nau got back to work, knowing that Varaneth was far from sated, but he paused to wave at Minji as she and her Green arrived. He thought she looked familiar, and when he saw the Gold flying off, he realized that she had been at the fire-lizard clutch where he Impressed Orel. He had never been formally introduced, though. "I'm L'nau, rider of Brown Vareneth." The pride in his voice was clear. Brown Rider! He felt sure that he would never grow bored of that introduction.
"You know, I've barely seen Orel since I Impressed," he remarked as he went back to chopping. "How have your fire-lizards handled their big cousins?"
((Sorry, I've been busy with finals and moving out and stuff. ^^; ))

Names were said, which meant that it was going to be a rather pleasant conversation, as Minji worked fervently with the meat before her. She made sure each piece were well suited for Laylath to chew and swallow without getting hurt and when Minji was on the last bits, she halted her progress to see how her lovely was doing.
I can very well finish the last bits..
Even though Laylath was firm in her words, she was not living up to them. Her lids drooped downwards every now and again, but the green was determined not to allow this to happen. When the green got tired of playing these mindful games with her eyes, she just plopped herself down and just curled there, sleeping.
Minji couldn't help but to softly giggle at this before she turned to each of the brownweyrlings in turn. Even though she said naught a word, she did seem to enjoy their company, but when L'nau spoke something about the fire lizards coping with their older cousins, Minji turned to him and thought. Really, Acryl showed no signs of being jealous.. Oh, wait, strike that.. The gold was somewhat moody whenever Minji spent time with Laylath, but her green seemed not to care much. Yeah, the two were often seen face to face, more so Laylath looking down upon Acryl, they seemed to get along quite exceptionally at night.
"They get along at times.. Perferably at nighttime, but because Acryl is a gold, I can't deny her any more attention than I can Laylath."
She eyed her sleeping green before turning to them both.
"In all honesty, whenever Laylath is asleep, that's when I spend time with Acryl. They seem to share to a certain degree.."
Minji shrugged mindlessly as she heard an all to familiar creeling of her gold fire lizard. In less than a few seconds, the weight of the gold was upon her shoulders and Minji chopped the few remaining pieces of meat into smaller bits and handed them to Acryl who gobbled them down vorociously.
"There, there Acryl.. At least you're getting decent quality meat as well."
When Acryl ate the last pieces, she thrummed happily as Minji began to rub the gold's eye ridges. She was rather a stunning beauty, especially with her odd white outline along the edges of her eyes.
