Krii wasn't even sure she was supposed to be this close to the river. She had been warned that the faster flowing parts could be dangerous, but she hadn't been paying a particularly great amount of attention at the time. As it was, she was tired of staying in the confines of the Weyr. She wanted to move and roam about, as did Prim. The green flitt had become quite annoying, objecting loudly when Krii went about her chores. Upon finishing said chores, Krii had decided that she deserved a bit of relaxtion. Prim had approved of this whole-heartedly.
Krii had been told by another (she couldn't remember who. Again, she had not been paying attention) that there was a part of the river that formed a pond and was safe for swimming. After thanking the man profusely and promptly forgetting his face, Krii bounded off, wondering vaguely if she would get in trouble for leaving the Weyr. Prim had assuaged her doubts with a series of high chirps and many soft, reassuring nuzzles. She was just as eager as Krii to get out of the place.
"Now watch over my clothes," Krii cautioned, gesturing to her shed garmets. Prim trilled an affirmation, settling herself on top of the mass of pastel colors, most of which were green. The green flitt watched her companion placidly, finally stretching out to soak up the rays of the sun. Bereft of most of her clothing, Krii had slipped into the swimming pond as quickly as possible, not truly wanting to show anyone anything. She was taking a large bet, swimming almost-naked save for a very short pair of bottoms, but the day wasn't overly warm and it would have taken her clothes quite awhile to dry.
Krii allowed her mind to wander. A gold had Risen. That meant a Clutch, which meant Candidates. Others like her and herself. Krii dipped her head under water for a moment, still thinking. This all would lead to Impression. She of course had high hopes, but that was all they were. As much as she wished to Impress, she couldn't help but have her fears. She was merely a Healer, and an apprentice one at that. She had a flitt, a cheery little green thing, but that was completely different, wasn't it? Sighing, Krii swam towards the shore to retrieve the little bit of scented sand she had brought with, returning to the center of the pond again. Still contemplating, she began to wash herself, or at least attempt to. She wasn't paying attention in the slightest to her surroundings, and Prim wasn't doing any better, having fallen asleep almost promptly.
