General Information
Name: Cador (kay-door)
Age: 20 Turns
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Rank: Candidate, Journeyman Harper (ooc note: Because of his age, I made him a Journeyman, as a opposed to a Sr. Apprentice. If you'd rather him still be an Apprentice, just let me know/change it.)
Appearance
Hair: Black
Eyes: Blue
Height: 5'10"
Over-All: Cador is utterly oblivious to his appearance. He's never been one to study his looks, a detail made obvious in the slightly haphazard image he almost always projects. His chin is square and pronounced, often dusted with the shadow of facial hair-- a tribute to his evident inattentiveness. His nose is slightly too wide for the rest of his face; it throws off the proportions slight, giving one the impression that it was tailored for someone else's countenance, and ended up on his as a mistake. Though his bone structure screams "testosterone," his eyes have the shapely, subtly feline curve of a woman's. Thick, dark eyebrows assume a slightly downward slant over irises colored a deep, brooding blue; the color of the night sky before a storm, the color of grief. His mouth is rougly hewn, yet charming, masking startlingly perfect teeth-- if you're lucky enough to see them. At 20 Turns, Cador is slightly old for candidacy. His features only further exaggerate his age. He appears far more aged than he actually is; he's acquired the collection of fine lines and dark circles more commonly attributed to those ten turns or more older than he.
Cador's hair is the dark hue of fresh soot; the unruly strands never seem to agree, some tumbling in gentle waves over his eyes, others remaining stubbornly straight. His hair is rarely kept neatly trimmed-- the somewhat unkempt locks give him a roguish appearance.
Cador's build is... average. He's not imposingly tall, or comically short. He falls into the happy medium inhabited by most. Not heavily muscled, he has a metabolism that keeps him remarkably slender. He enjoys running (it helps him clear his thoughts), but worries little about enhacing his personal fitness beyond that.
Personality
Cador is best described as mercurial. One can never accurately predict how his mood will tend on any given day. He can be deadly serious, or exude the boundless, hyperactive (and sometimes irritating) energy of a child. He exhibits an immense amount of focus and determination when need be, and his ambition cannot be matched. He's more flirtatious than any person has a right to be, and yet, he's terrified of the mere concept of "love." He trusts almost no one, but at the same time, has no qualms about lying to anyone in regards to anything. He has a temper that flares rarely but without warning, often leading to massive explosions of anger upon the unlucky target. He has the capacity to be a serious jerk, but makes a genuine attempt to be a "good person." He's as complicated as they come; he readily admits that he confuses himself, understands little of what he does and why. He acts wholly on instinct, much of the time, and it rarely serves him wrong. He's very aware of his mortality, and constantly takes risks to defy the idea of death distant but inevitable. He does his best to be fearless-- he has far too much pride to admit there's much in life that terrifies him. The one truly remarkable thing about Cador is his voice. He has a gorgeous, full tenor tone; it is his vocal talent and his passion for music that drew him to the Harper's craft.
History
Cador was raised alongside his two siblings (a younger sister, Camylla, and an older brother, Caden) in Sanctum Hold. Camylla was born barely a year after he; because of their closeness in age and the similarities in their personalites, the two were incredibly close friends. They could rarely be found without each other. Much to their parent's chagrin, they often joined forces to create mischief that would have been impossible solo. Cador always believed himself Camylla's protector, but, truth be told, she saved him as often as he did her. The two share a level of trust that Cador has found impossible to maintain with anyone else. (Cador remains the sole person aware of Camylla's bisexuality.) Caden, on the other hand, was born almost ten turns before Cador. Due to the large age-gap, and the fact that the two boys were polar opposites, Caden was little more than a peripheral figure in Cador's life. It was when Cador was 10 Turns old that Caden first got sick. The Healers worked for weeks trying to figure out what ailed the man, and what could cure him. In the span of a few short months, Caden withered from a robust man to a horribly reduced shadow of himself. Their mother faded with him. Caden and Cador had never established any real friendship, so Caden's eventually death did not affect Cador as it could have. It did, however, instill in him an unmatched fear of dying of sickness, and a mild loss of faith in those who practiced healing. He was apprenticed to the Harpers when those around him realized his talent for singing, and his affinity for music. He remained there until he was Searched at the age of 20.
